The wall of portraits of course!
Many families have dedicated a wall, a room, even a nook, to portraits of their children, (my mother's is an entire room of smiling faces whose eyes watch your every move). I decided I love that kindergarten year. At time when the baby teeth are still there, small dimples remain on the knuckles of the fingers, somewhere between toddler and kid. I love it.
This past week we had Whitney's portrait taken and the set is complete. For those of you who may never visit my wall, enjoy. (And for those of you who do visit - act surprised and oooh and ahhh appropriately.)

Whitney's little girl picture was taken on Friday. On Saturday morning we followed through with the much discussed and looked-forward-to ear piercing and short haircut. I was so busy holding Whitney's hand and helping her get her earrings I did not get a picture but I did snap one during the haircut.

Then, voila - my little girl of Friday morning turned into my 6-year-old "tween" of Saturday morning. She LOVES her new short hairdo and thinks her earrings are the coolest. I think she tucks her hair behind her ears on purpose to show off the bling.
Oh, Ms. Whit. She steals my heart. I can't decide...the long tresses, the adorable bob. They both look SOOO cute. I didn't realize her hair had become that long, it is (was) lovely! But you know I'm a sucker for the bob. Oh how I love it, she looks so sweet and stylish. And now I sound like a 'hair' girl, and you know how I feel about that, so I'll bid you adieu.
ReplyDeleteHow fun that your kids get a "Koryn Shrine." (That's what we call it at our house.) She is absolutely beautiful--long hair or short. I can't believe she's only six!
ReplyDeleteI almost cried when I saw that sweet face. Oh how I love that little girl! Like Ash, I didn't realize her hair had grown so long! She is absolutely precious.
ReplyDeleteYour boys are cute and their pictures are sweet, but WOW is Whitney a knock-out! I like that you're letting her make the call on the short hair and the earrings. It's not as easy as it sounds, I bet.
ReplyDeleteRemember how your Koryn Shrine was the only thing on the wall for several years? And your parents had lights trained on it? That. Was. Awesome.
:)
Ohhhh how I miss you guys!!! Move back to Omaha....Please...I said PLEASE haha You have such good looking kids Koryn but hmmm what can you say when they come from good looking parents huh???
ReplyDeleteStill hoping for Mason-Whitney eternal union as they get older--boy would they have the most adorable kids!!!
