Sugar and Spice Turns 6

Sugar and spice and everything nice, that's Whitney is made of. On Thursday the 12th of March we celebrated her 6th birthday. We started the day with the yearly request of donuts and OJ. Nothing like pure sugar to start and great day. I think we were all a little sick but no one would admit to it!

Whitney had been planning her class treat for weeks. She decided on Rice Krispie treats, but perhaps not for the reason you may think. She loves cookies and cupcakes like any gal. However, one of her best friends cannot have anything with milk or eggs. This entire year Whitney has seen Ryin miss out on the treats that come to class and Whitney has made it clear for months that HER birthday treat would be one the ENTIRE class could share. We had to get a bit creative but Rice Krispies to the rescue.

Whitney was so excited to give these away!

First, the class sang her a birthday song,

Then passing out the treats - pink for the girls and blue for the boys

Then, one fore the birthday girl!

She had a great kindergarten birthday at school. For the rest of the birthday she chose her dinner, almost anything goes! She chose grilled shrimp, fruit salad, caesar salad, and chocolate lava cake. Whew! I guess all the healthy choices made up for the cake and ice cream at the end.

And now, she is 100%, completely, totally - six years old!

We are having a birthday party for her next week. Can't wait to show the pictures - it should be a fun one.

  2. Oh, that is the sweetest thing I've ever heard. What an impressive little sweetheart. I can't say sweet enough.

It was so fun to chat with Miss Whit (albeit the day AFTER - argh! no lie, it was on my calendar all day!) and pass along birthday wishes from Aunt Allison and Uncles Noah and Collin. I just adore your kids, Koryn! Happy birthday, Whit!
